SARASOTA, Fla. — April 3, 2026 — Calcutta Marine International today announced the acquisition of Andros Boatworks, bringing together two respected Sarasota boat manufacturers and marking a significant step forward for the region’s marine industry. Founded in 1996 by Steve Ellis, Calcutta Marine International built its reputation on premium semi-custom catamaran boats and a fiercely loyal customer base. After a new ownership group took the helm in 2022, the company expanded its capabilities through strategic asset purchases and investments in new tooling, allowing Calcutta to significantly increase production while maintaining its commitment to quality and craftsmanship.
Andros Boatworks, known for its performance-driven V-hull designs, brings two flagship models into the combined portfolio: the Tarpon 26-foot V-hull and the Offshore 32-foot V-hull. The company has long been recognized for its ride quality, fishability, and hands-on customer relationships.
Under the new structure, both Andros models will now be manufactured at Calcutta Marine International’s Sarasota facility, consolidating operations and creating a unified production environment that leverages the strengths of both teams.
